So, after we left Canada, we crossed into the Upper Penisula of Michigan.  As we were driving, we came along Lake Superior and decided to stop, eat lunch and swim.  Andrew and Ally loved it! (especially Ally, who loved that there were no crabs to bite her!) It was so nice.  We then continued on our way to Wisconsin, where we stayed at the Apostle Island lakeshore.  It was kind of late when we got in, so we just relaxed and cooked out.  The next day, we took the ferry over to the biggest of the islands, Madeline Island.  It was very nice and relaxing.  There are less then 300 people who live there year round (although in summer, there are many people who vacation there.) ANdrew and Ally enjoyed seeing the schoolhouse, a 2 room school that currently has about 15 kids! We also visited the museum there, which among other things had a birchnark wigwam we could go in.  We stayed for a while and then decided to move on.
